Ken has been a pioneer in the Australian IT industry since 1966. In the 1960’s he installed the first automated point of sale systems in Australia with NCR. In the 1970’s Ken started his own computer service bureau which provided computer services for public accountants throughout Australia. It also specialised in health care and share registry computer processing. The share registry business was the forerunner to Computershare which today is leading multinational IT company.
In the 1980’s Ken was one of the first to recognise the future of personal computing and during this decade his business was Australia’s leading reseller of PC hardware and software representing leading brands such as Microsoft, Epson, NEC and Lotus.
In the 1990’s Ken disagreed with the PC industries ‘spin’ with jargon such as ‘plug & play’ and ‘user friendly’ and was the first to offer consumer support on a national scale. In 1991 he formed Quick Knowledge, now QK which within 5 years was providing installation support for major PC brands.
Today, under Ken’s leadership, QK has evolved to meet the dynamic challenges of technological change in the 21st century which has seen the convergence of IT, AV and telecommunications. QK, through its partners is the leading service company installing and supporting products in this rapidly growing market segment.
“Technology has the power to improve efficiency in every home and business. In the 21st century it will be the difference between prosperity and mediocrity”
Seb comes from a background in engineering (Robotics/Mechatronics) and prior to commencement at QK worked for a number of years in the industrial automation field for global manufacturer Rockwell Automation.
Commencing with the business in 2007, Seb has had various roles throughout his tenure, but it is his drive to deliver a seemless customer experience that has resulted in his appointment to CEO in 2011. It is this genuine focus on achieving a great customer experience for every customer that has seen QK's Net Promoter average increase to just over 50% and peaked at levels of 80% which is well above the industry benchmark.
“QK’s competitive advantage comes from our continual focus on emerging technologies and the seamless experience by which we deliver them to the end user”
